All-Ireland U16B Camogie Championship Final
In a very wet Blanchardstown, Derry were first off the block in each half. Waterford responded well, hitting home an early goal in the first half. But the Oak Leaf camogs took control again and went in 2 points ahead at half-time. Leading by 6 points with just a few minutes to go, it looked like the All-Ireland title was staying in Derry. But Waterford had other ideas and rocked the Derry defence with one goal resulting from a free and another unstoppable shot.
Despite the cruel blows at the end, this was a great Derry performance, marked by the selection of Derry’s Keelin Bradley as Player of the Final. They will have learnt a great deal from this game and will now know that they must take every opportunity to finish off this team in the replay.
The replay is yet to be confirmed by Croke Park. Once confirmed, details will be available on the Derry Camogie website and Irish News.
