Referees

Should a referee not be available to referee a fixture, the club secretary of that referee or the referee him/herself MUST inform the following referee co-ordinators at the earliest possible opportunity:

Premier: Eileen Gribbin

Senior:

Intermediate: Michelle Friel

Junior: Malachy McToal

Late notice is only acceptable in exceptional circumstances. Clubs and referees are asked to remember that alot of work by all parties goes into arranging fixtures and failure to fulfill a fixture has a knock on effect on alot of people. Clubs are reminded of our by-law which state that ‘nominated referees must attend referees’ courses and must officiate at games during the season. Failure to do so may result in the club that nominated him/her being penalised.’

Should a team be unable to play a game on the date scheduled, the secretary of the same club should notify the co-ordinator of that cmmpetition immediately. He/She will liase with the opposition’s secretary, the Fixtures’ Secretary and the Referees’ Secretary, and if necessary, the game will only be reset in exceptional circumstances, the game to be re-fixed within a maximum of four days inclusive.
