Turning on the heat with H&A!

There are currently 23 camogie clubs in Derry covering the entire county.  Derry have 4 county teams, U14, U16, Minor and Junior.  Derry recently won the Ulster Junior Championship, beating Down in the final and face Offally in the first round of the All Ireland Championship in two weeks time.

H&A, the heating and building specialists are a family based business established by husband and wife team, Hugh and Anne McWilliams.  H&A can do it all, central heating, kitchens, bathrooms, electrical and renewable options.  Hugh McWilliams, Managing Director of H&A had this to say,

“There is a proud tradition of Camogie in the area, some of our own employees have even played for the county team so we are extremely happy to lend our support to all the teams involved in the county”.

The sponsorship will be ongoing for the next year and includes all county teams at all levels throughout the county.  When contacted earlier, Clare Doherty, captain of the winning Junior Team said

“Winning the Junior Ulster title for the first time since 2002 was a massive boost to the county.  We have been working hard since February in training and delivered a great performance in the final to retain the title.  Now we are looking towards the All Ireland series and I feel having secured this sponsorship from H&A, we are taking another important step in our preparation”

Breige McGilligan, Chairperson of Derry Camogie Board said “This is a huge step forward for Derry Camogie and I am delighted that H&A, a local firm, has come on board to help us achieve our goals in the development of camogie in Derry.  Derry Camogie are extremely happy to be embarking on this sponsorship in partnership with H&A.  I would like to thank Hugh and Anne for their generosity and willingness to support us and we will endeavour to ensure that the sponsorship is mutually beneficial”
