Derry defeat Antrim in National league

Derry 2-17 Antrim 2-03 By the end of the hour, Derry had a convincing win over Antrim in Coleraine. There was little between the teams in the first half, as shown by the half-time scoreline of 0-5 to 1-0. After the break, Derry looked much more assured, taking control in key sectors of the field, with particularly strong performances from Claire Doherty, Grainne McGoldrick and Briege Convery. Key to the victory was Briege’s effectiveness in cancelling out the threat of Jane Adams. This was a very promising start to the league for Derry, with all 6 starting forwards getting their name on the scoresheet.
